A weekly explainer about how Seattle works.
The host
Nora keeps every episode to between 6 and 10 minutes: long enough to follow one question all the way down, short enough to finish on a walk to the ferry.
How the show is made
Each episode starts as a question. Nora researches it with an AI research assistant that cites its sources, writes and fact-checks the script, and the narration is a synthetic voice made with ElevenLabs. The sources are listed on every episode.
The research assistant is a language model. It searches the web and reports what it found with the address of each page. Nora decides which facts are used, and the script is checked against those pages before it is voiced.
The narration is a synthetic voice made with ElevenLabs. It is not a recording of a person. The transcript on an episode page is the exact text the voice reads (an episode recorded by a person instead is marked as scripted), and the numbered sources link to the pages the facts came from.
When it comes out
New every Tuesday. Episodes go live Tuesdays at 5:00 a.m. Pacific.
It appears in your podcast app, on the episodes page and in an email if you have asked for one. Subscribe to the feed once and every episode arrives by itself.
Press, guests and advertising
Questions about an episode, a correction, a press request or an advertising enquiry all go the same way: write here and Nora reads it.
